Kate + Eric - The Shamble at HeadHouse Square

Kate + Eric wanted their wedding to be an autumnal, romantic, botanical wonder. Originally scheduled to be at The Olde Bar. As many couples had to do in 2020, they pivoted. Just WEEKS before the wedding. Thankfully we had the BEST vendor team and no one batted an eye. We set out to re-work the existing design and create their dream wedding!

DESIGN

The ceremony was held at Old St. Mary’s Church and we placed pew bows with dahlias down the aisle. Everyone agreed that the overall design should placed an emphasis on the out door reception held under the domed celling in the historic Shambles at HeadHouse Square in Philadelphia. We wanted to transform the beautiful historic brick landmark into an intimate floral oasis for Kate, Eric and their guests. We created standing floral installations to “hug” the guests and mimic the iconic arch shape of the shambles roof. We ran the tables with lots of pillar and votive candles, small individual arrangements, bud vases, placed greens, mossy moments of texture and potted plants, a nod to our groom Eric, who LOVES a fern. We added additional dimension on the tables with acrylic risers, lifting and highlighting various pieces of the tablescape.

We worked closely with House Of Catherine (HOC) and LoveHaus Event s to perfect the floor plan for maximum impact and visibility by creating a long never ending tablescape, bedecked with the most luscious Nuage linens. The floral arches framing the tables and mixed with HOC pendant lamps arching the same way, hugging the tables from one end to the other.

The sweetheart table was created as a romantic moment for the couple at the very front of the long tablescape, creating a beautiful view of their guests and decor and a perfect photo moment.

We worked with HOC to ensure we could really enhance the custom Sweetheart Table backdrop, Escort Wall, amazing Bar Signage and Welcome signage perfectly with florals. We even supplied our studio chairs and HOC brought a table to create a mini lounge!

EVENT

We selected the best of the season when it came to the flowers. LOTS of beautiful local blooms, loads of Dahlia mixed with lux cappuccino roses, brown orchids, fluffy peach lisianthus, pops of blue texture with tweedia and seasonal dried elements all artfully curated into a lush seasonal design.

We used the HOC sunset palette as a jumping off point and bumped up the saturation for the floral palette bringing in more jewel tones to play off the softer muted sunset shades.

Katie’s bouquet was a beautiful, Autumn palette, touches of champagne, soft yellow, muted roses and soft pinks set off by pops of orange and touches of light blue. The bouquet was finished with a rust ribbon from Silk and Willow. While she was getting ready with her hair and make up stylist, Staci of Marissa Grace Artistry, we provided the photographer, SweetWater Portraits with some styling details for some beautiful flat-lays for the special day and they did not disappoint. Kate was wearing a gorgeous dress by Lillian West for the ceremony and then changed into a Willow by Watters dress for a night of dancing!

Once Kate and Eric arrived at the Shambles from the Church, we could not wait to see their reaction and it was well worth it! When Becky brought Katie to the tables, she was speechless. After guests enjoyed the amazing cocktail hour, with the custom HOC bar backdrop and White Glove rental bar they took photos with the photo wall and the couple moved into first dances, against the backdrop of their whole wedding hugged by the city of Philadelphia. As night fell the custom lighting from Mondo Medial solutions created the perfect twinkle to a stellar Garces catered dinner. If we could have stayed we would have, Becky even stayed through cocktail hour to present the reception to our couple and to watch first dances, it was that magic.
